The Talented Mr. Kerry

I think I will start calling him The Talented Mr. Kerry - or TTMK for short!

No Jobs! Oh the Socialistic Horror!

I have warned in the past that this will eventually lead to the growth of their hatred of the US. When this happens then there is a big possibility of a struggle in Europe or between Europe and the US that could rival the Cold War and could turn HOT like WWII.

Problem is it is their own fault - but that high minded, superior, nuanced attitude (like "the talented Mr. Kerry") doesn't allow much introspection!

Little sign of new jobs created in Europe
AP Wire | September 01 2004 | Associated Press

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The euro zone continues to experience a jobless recovery, with no indication that new jobs are being created after more than a year of generally sluggish economic growth.

According to figures published Wednesday by the European Union statistics agency, the unemployment rate in the dozen countries using the euro was unchanged at 9 percent in July.

The figures were in line with expectations, and remain far above other parts of the industrialized world. The jobless rate stood at 5.6 percent in the United States and 4.9 percent in Japan, according to Eurostat.

Unlike other developed economies, the euro zone has yet to experience a burst of job creation in response to stronger global economic growth, and there is little sign of dramatic improvement this year.

The high unemployment rate partly explains the weak state of consumer confidence in the euro zone and the low level of spending growth.

According to a survey of euro-zone purchasing managers also published Wednesday, manufacturers cut payrolls for the 39th straight month in August, and at a faster rate than in July.

With domestic demand likely to remain subdued for some time as a consequence of high unemployment, the European Central Bank isn't expected to raise interest rates soon. Its governing council meets Thursday, and is expected to leave rates unchanged at 2 percent.

Unemployment rates varied widely across the currency area, with Austria recording a jobless rate of 4.2 percent, while Spain recorded a jobless rate of 11 percent.

In the European Union as a whole - which includes Britain, Sweden, Denmark and the 10 mostly central and eastern European countries that joined the area May 1 - the jobless rate fell to 9 percent from 9.1 percent in June.

Deep Cover Iraqi Here in IL

Deep Cover Iraqi Spy Arrested (Captains Quarters)

Federal agents have arrested a Des Plaines, Illinois man as a deep-cover Iraqi spy living undercover in the US for eleven years, awaiting orders from his IIS handler that apparently never came:

After the arrest of Sami Khoshaba Latchin, 57, prosecutors said he became a naturalized citizen after making false statements to immigration officials in 1999 and planned to "lay low" until contacted by his Iraqi handler.

Latchin entered a not guilty plea at a hearing Monday.

According to a federal indictment returned July 21 and unsealed Monday, Latchin worked for the Iraqi Intelligence Service, known as the Mukhabbarat, the foreign intelligence arm of the Iraqi government.

The indictment said that in addition to failing to disclose his ties to Iraqi intelligence, Latchin, a Baath party member, lied about overseas trips he made in 1994, 1996 and 1997.

Latchin, who was born in Dohuk, Iraq, and has lived in the United States for nearly 11 years, told authorities he was traveling on vacation when, in fact, he met with his Iraqi intelligence handler and received payment for his services, the indictment alleges.

Now this seems fairly important regarding the Iraq question. If Iraq had sleeper cells in the US, with their agents waiting for instructions from their handlers, one has to wonder what those instructions eventually would be. Deep-cover agents are not typically used for information-gathering exercises -- they initiate aggressive action, and they're dangerous because they appear out of nowhere.

Implosion 101 The Symptoms

From Hugh Hewitt:
I interviewed Matthew Dowd today (and that transcript will follow as well.). His key point: There are three signs of a collapsing campaign. First, the candidate who is falling like a rock challenges his opponent to weekly debates. Second, the candidate who is sinking shuffles his senior staff. Third, the candidate who is the walking dead says that the only poll that counts is the poll on election day. Dowd pointed out that Kerry has already scored two of the three. Heh.
Yep, were seeing it happen right before our eyes.

With 53% approval ratings this will only get uglier - look for the red faced Democrats screaming at the top of their lungs to no avail! Oh and the media - well, I would advise you just put the paper down and walk away slowly!

Stupid huh - At least I'm In Good Company

Fox News Viewers Are Stupid, Protesters Say
Robert B. Bluey
Staff Writer
New York (CNSNews.com) - Hundreds of protesters gathered outside Fox News' headquarters Tuesday proclaiming that the millions of viewers who tune in every day to the cable news channel are mostly stupid Republicans from middle America. The gathering brought throngs of anti-Fox demonstrators from divergent groups that included CodePink, Houston Global Awareness, the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane and the Tejas Bloc. The rally itself featured typical chants - "Shut up Fox" and "The more you watch, the less you know" - but several participants took a much harsher tone toward Fox News and its audience. "Republicans are stupid! They watch Fox News," blared a poster held by Karen Minsberg, 51, of Brooklyn. When asked if it was a bit harsh, she told CNSNews.com absolutely not.

This is the height of arrogance and the depths to which the Democratic party and their ilk (don't you love it when someone uses Ilk!) have sunk - actually dug to because you have to dig to get as low as they have!

You know, since Fox regularly beats the other two cable networks (combined as they say) at least I am in good company! Check out the 5.2 million that watched last night!

Wizbang - Up is Down Update

Man is this right on the money!

Enough of the Bullshit!

I'm watching "The Daily Show," and they're doing a bit on the Republicans exploiting 9/11 at their convention. I've heard this theme repeated over and over. Am I the only one who remembers just how the RNC happened to end up in NYC?

After 9/11, I recall Guiliani (or possibly Bloomberg) asking both parties to hold their conventions in New York. The idea was to show the world that New York was NOT crippled by the attack, that all Americans stood with those who were hit the hardest by 9/11, and a colossal "FU" to the terrorists. I thought it was a fantastic idea. A lot of people thought it was a fantastic idea. The Republicans immediately agreed -- and that was HUGE. New York CIty has always been a fortress of Democrats, despite the last two mayors, and the GOP had never gone to the Big Apple. But they heard the city's call and answered.

The Democratic National Committee, however, had it's own agenda. They told New York that they'd be glad to come to New York, but only if they disinvited the Republicans. They didn't want to share any possible gains with being so close to 9/11's Ground Zero with the Republicans.

New York, to it's credit, told the Democrats to shove it, and they did -- right up Boston's wazoo. The poor Hub City is still trying to recover from the blows to it's economy from hosting the convention.

So, Democrats, the next time you feel like slamming the Republicans for "exploiting 9/11 at their convention," I strongly request you first write down your feelings on a piece of paper, fold it into very sharp corners, and shove it up your collective asses. You not only had the opportunity to make a great patriotic gesture and eliminate 9/11 as a partisan issue, but you chose instead to play politics and attempted to seize it for yourselves. Don't you DARE try to dodge your own culpability this time.

There's an old Jewish joke that defines "chutzpah" as "a man who kills his parents, then asks the judge for mercy because he's an orphan." Now we have a new example of rank, unmitigated political gall -- and it's called the Democratic National Committee.

J.

    911 Democrats listen up!

From Roger L. Simon (via Hugh Hewitt)

Apparently Mr. Edwards, the man I voted for in the California Democratic Primary, is telling us, according to Reuters that

If elected U.S. president, Sen. John Kerry would offer Iran a deal allowing it to keep its nuclear power plants if it gave up the right to retain bomb-making nuclear fuel, said Kerry's vice presidential running mate in an interview published on Monday.

Well, for all you 911 Democrats sitting on the fence, that's about as good a reason as I could think of not to vote for Kerry and Edwards. In fact, I'll go further. The idea that Iranian mullahs would tell the truth to the US government or anybody else in the West is an absurd joke. Edwards, I would imagine, is an historical illiterate when it comes to Iran. Somebody in the press should ask him a few questions. [Not that most of them know.-ed. No they don't.] It's an absolute affront to the Iranian students who dearly seek freedom that they would propose such a thing. Shame, shame on Kerry and Edwards. This is a country where there are public hangings of sixteen-year old girls yet they act as if their leaders can be trusted. Huh?

    John McCain:

It's more than appropriate, it's necessary that even in times of crisis we have these contests and engage in spirited disagreement over the shape and course of our government.

We have nothing to fear from each other. We are arguing over the means to better secure our freedom and support the general welfare.

But it should remain an argument among friends who share an unshaken belief in our great cause and in the goodness of each other.

We are Americans first, Americans last, and Americans always.

World War Update 083104 French Nuance

The French have nuanced themselves right into the snakepit!

Iraq to France: Take a Stand, Already! (Slings and Arrows)

Iraq's PM has made it plain what it would like to see from the French and the French are not impressed:

In comments reported in Le Monde daily, Mr Allawi said: "The French, like all democratic countries, cannot let themselves be satisfied with adopting a passive position.

"Governments that decide to stay on the defensive will be the next terrorist targets.

"Let me tell you that the French, despite all the noise they are making, [such as] 'We don't want war', will soon have to fight against terrorists," he said, adding that future attacks could happen in French cities as well as in the United States.

The French government, which led the opposition to the US-led war in Iraq, called his comments unacceptable.

"These declarations seem, in effect, to cast doubt on France's determination in the fight against terrorism," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that France had called for a political solution in Iraq since the start of the crisis.

The French are supposed to be intelligent, educated, and perceptive. Yet the Foreign Minister could not see that casting doubt on France's determination in the fight against terrorism was not only exactly what the Iraqi PM was doing, but that they should perhaps begin to question their own position on that fight.

From The "Ain't Gonna Happen" File

EU claims it won Olympics(The Sun)

Mr Prodi turned the Athens games into a political football, boasting that our bag of 30 medals helped the EU trounce America and China.

He said: “The Games were a huge success thanks to their unique spirit and smooth organisation but also because EU athletes did so well

“In 2008 I hope to see the teams in Beijing carry the flag of the European Union alongside their own national flag as a symbol of our unity. The European Union’s sportsmen and women performed outstandingly at Athens, winning 82 gold medals and more than 280 medals in total.”

Did it ever occur to this guy that by his standards he is bragging for cheating - too many athletes entered!

The key is that over the past 50 years the EU has slowly being trying to integrate themselves to a single United States of Europe - but it doesn't work that way. Their proud national histories and their current grandiose superiority complexes will prevent integration.

They can't even decide on a language!

World War Update 083004 French Nail or 2 by 4

Then there is this from Cox and Forkum:

From The New York Times: Hostages Urge France to Repeal Its Scarf Ban.

[Hostage] Georges Malbrunot, who writes for the daily newspapers Le Figaro and Ouest-France, said, "I appeal to the French people and every Frenchman who appreciates the meaning of life to stage demonstrations demanding that the law banning the Islamic veil be revoked, because our lives are in danger and we might die any minute if this law, which I urge President Chirac to revoke, is not abrogated." [...]

The law bans conspicuous religious symbols from public elementary and high schools. It is scheduled to go into effect when schools open on Thursday. [...]

... Iraq's prime minister, Ayad Allawi, said the kidnapping proved that France's position on Iraq -- presumably its opposition to the war and the absence of a troop presence -- offered no protection from terrorism.

"Neutrality doesn't exist, as the kidnapping of the French journalists has shown," Mr. Allawi said in an interview with several European and American newspapers. "The French are deluding themselves if they think they can remain outside of this. Today the extremists are targeting them, too."

That realization, that opposition to the American-led war in Iraq has not provided immunity from Iraq-related terrorism, appears to have sunk in here [in France] as well.

"Nobody is safe," said an editorial in Le Monde on Monday. "No diplomacy can claim to be any kind of Maginot line that would protect us better than our Spanish or Italian neighbors from the death wish that has been at work since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."

More accurately, a policy of appeasement with terrorists and dictators is a Maginot line, i.e., an ineffective line of defense. Worse still, appeasement acts as a lure to evil, inviting more and more blackmail because it rewards blackmail. That is why diplomatic compromise with Islamists -- whether in France or Najaf -- only furthers their cause and, ultimately, threatens western liberty. As the Times article notes:

[I]n an audiotape broadcast by a Dubai-based television channel in February, Ayman Zawahiri, the No. 2 figure in the terrorist network Al Qaeda, condemned France for defending the freedom of nudity and depravity and fighting chastity and decency with the scarf ban, adding that such anti-Muslim acts by the West should be dealt with by tank shells and antiaircraft missiles.

Robert Tracinski summed up the issue in today's TIA Daily:

The Europeans have long clung to the fantasy that certain specific "grievances" -- treatment of Israel and the Palestinians, US "Imperialism," and so on -- are the cause of terrorism. In reality, as French President Jacques Chirac is discovering, Islamic terrorists hate the West because of what we are -- and because we stand in the way of the global Islamic theocracy they long to impose.
This hits the nail right on the head - repeatedly - but maybe a 2 by 4 upside the head is what it will take to open their eyes!

Albert Wynn, D-District 4, a black Congressman from Prince George's County, told The (Baltimore) Sun that the governor's comments were "a gross distortion of the Democratic message." He said the Republican Party has resisted affirmative action and opposed many of the social programs that support blacks.

I agree, this goes for any one of the voting blocks out there! If you don't agree with their philsophy and vote the way they want you are considered an outcast!

What I don't get is how the Congressman can forget that if it were left up to the Democrats in the Senate in the 60's there would never have been any civil rights legislation. The Republicans got this passed as they have many other so called "progressive" programs.

    "Lie-N-Hype 9/11" Update - The Slobby Truth

From Drudge about a CNN interview tonight:

BUSH: I don't know about whether they're OK or not. The one I'm interested in is if they go forward with what John Kerry said when he came back from Vietnam, because I remember that. And I think that's fair game.

I don't know about these. If it's proved that it's untrue, then it's not right...

Look, we have been victimized by this moveon.org, this slobby Michael Moore and all of these people for months. And for months before the president started campaigning, he was attacked by all kinds of people.

So, you know, you can't have it both ways. And I don't know enough about the Swift Boat Veterans. I think Kerry served honorably, but I don't know enough about them to say they're all liars.

    ON THE NEW YORK TIMES

BUSH: It's consistently liberal. It consistently opposes the president on almost everything editorial. Most of their editorial comment on the op-ed page is extraordinarily liberal.

The thing that troubles me is in my opinion their news columns are getting to show a certain bias. There is a new way you do it now -- Reporter's notebook. And then that gives you a little chance to be an advocate in the news column. Or Washington Whispers or something like that, and that relieves the reporter of objectivity, objective reporting.

And so, you know, I expect we'll get a big argument about this, but I'm absolutely certain of it. I've given up on them.

ZAHN: Has the president given up on them?

BUSH: I don't know. He might be like his mother; she won't read it anymore.

You got to hand it to this guy he hit both marks (although he went a bit week on the NYT, he is nuanced I guess!) When you see how Clinton handled his post Presidency it is nice to see some real class still exists.

    Com Log 083004 He's What?

Only have a minute, but I wanted to check in and say hi. Reading your blog keeps me motivated to fight the good fight when I'm feeling tired, lazy or just discourged. Its so easy to get cynnical with all the negative politics, corporate owned press, and a public too lazy to look up foot notes and find out the real story.

I do, of course, have some criticisms though. Being a card carrying liberal, I always wonder what attracts people about the current Republican party. I mean real people, not the Enron, Oil Industry, billionaire club. If you are rich, the benifits of a Bush America is obvious.

But you don't sound rich. In fact, you can't work because of illness or injury. And it sounds like you want to take your ex-employer to court and make him pay for your disability. Now I know next to nothing about the details of your case, but I do know Dubya isn't on your side. Dubya is for tort reform, that does not bode well for your law suit. He is for reducing medicare/medicaid. Not good for you. He is for taking the "savings" and giving it back (to the rich, not you). Still not good. So, if you don't mind me asking, why are you on the wrong side?

Okay, you spend a lot of time on medication, and you have a thing for ufo's and conspiracy theories. Still doesn't quite explain it. So, what gives?

    Your friend as always,
    MM

I hope you were complimenting me and that you meant that I wasn’t negative and that my comments were factually based! :)

I have just a couple of answers – first off I am far from rich (even by liberal standards) and I don’t want to take my employer to court to pay for my disability – I want them to uphold their end of our bargain. I paid a premium and they agreed to pay a benefit.

It all goes to personal responsibility. That is one of the main reasons I am a conservative. After all if we didn’t have so many lawyers we wouldn’t need so many lawyers! Imagine if I do get a fair settlement – my lawyer will get a third and I will receive two thirds of a fair settlement. Why, too many lawsuits and too many people unwilling to take responsibility for their actions. Tort reform is a necessity.

Bush expanded Medicare coverage (did you forget Rx coverage), and is giving choices – not make all my decisions for me. Bush also expanded the American’s With Disabilities Act which his father signed into law ten years earlier! What civil rights legislation did Clinton sign………oh that’s right, NONE!

As far as tax policies – the expansion of the economy helps all of us. EVERYONE who pays income taxes received a cut under Bush’s plan. Why would I ever expect a tax refund if I don’t pay any in? At that point it has nothing to do with taxes, but it has to do with hand out’s, welfare.

BTW, it is no secret that the wealthiest of us create the jobs.

Now to a revelation I am not only a conservative, but I am a gay conservative. Shocked amazement, but I gotta tell ya, Liberals can pass all the civil rights legislation they want – they can say it is my legal right to fuck on the street corner – but if I am locked in my basement waiting for the dirty bomb to disburse then what good does it do me? The only way to defeat terrorism is to take the battle to them and remove any and all safe harbors for them to hide. The Bush plan does that as well implants a chance for democracy in the Middle East.

The old way hasn't worked and Kerry and the Protest wing of the Democratic Party wants to return to those good old stagnant days - after 9/11 something had to change, luckily we had a President who had the strength to stand up and shake things up.

I am an individual not part of a voting block! President Bush judges individuals just as I do and news flash, he doesn’t hate me, he doesn’t even dislike me. Like me he is realistic. Liberals tend to believe in some utopian society conservatives tend to be realists.

    Cigarillos No more

On the subject of the next generation of conservatives comes this from Instipundit regarding the Protest Warriors:
    <>
<>HERE'S AN INTERESTING NEWSWEEK INTERVIEW with Kfir Alfia of ProtestWarrior.com. Excerpt:

I think the punch we pack with our style is very powerful. That's why we've attracted a lot of college students and high-school students who are hungry for an outlet to do exactly this. They look like the type of person you would find at the antiwar protests, but that doesn’t mean they share the same ideology. Part of the appeal of the left up until now has been, "Look, forget ideology, we’re cool. We’re here to have fun." That really struck a chord with a younger generation. I think that's changing, and I think we’re part of evidence.

I guess this is just another sign that the left is losing its teen spirit, something that's been discussed before.

    UPDATE: Michael Ubaldi emails:

Alfia has a point about image and iconography. The stereotype that righties are old guys in suits smoking cigarillos made from $100 bills has been spoon-fed for decades; just open a thesaurus and look up "conservative." But just give a quick look around: who's calling for Third Worlders to be given the same rights we enjoy? Protest Warriors, Sabine Herold's Liberté Cherie, Conservative Punk, adjuncts to Daneshjoo; all friends of the right. I don't think Bruce Springsteen and friends understand how silly and hypocritical they look by talking about love and peace while flipping the bird to Iraqis and Afghans.

Besides mocking the left, Protest Warrior offers a chance for young adults to be part of real protests for real progress.

    Indeed.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Here's an older interview of Alfia from when Protest Warrior was just getting started. Best bit: "And since the Republican party is sure to continue its tradition of weak, pathetic, uninspiring ads, it's time for the grassroots to pick up the slack."

    Implosion 101 Peeking Too Soon!

For Kerry the arrogance and unending belief in the rightness of his destiny as President didn't carry over to the new media. I don't doubt that if the media had their way the election would be over and they would have won! They oh so want their power back and they see Kerry as a means to this end (see Media Contradictions!)

Unfortunately the bottom line is that because of the blogsphere and talk radio the old media was forced to take a peek at Kerry because of the claims he made and the reality of the Swifties!

Need some proof - try this:

KERRY'S PLAN: "THE MEDIA WON'T HAVE THE NERVE" (LittleGreenfootballs.com)

The source may be unidentified, but events have confirmed this August 10 story at the American Spectator, outlining Kerry’s plan to deal with the allegations from Swift Boat Veterans for Truth: Command Confidence. (Hat tip: M. Simon.)

According to a Kerry campaign source, senior campaign advisers tasked two Washington-based campaign staffers to vet the recently published Unfit for Command.

“The purpose was to compare what that book had with what we had on file from Senator Kerry,” says the campaign source, who said that the research project developed more than 75 instances where Kerry’s recollections, previous remarks, or writings conflicted with the book’s reporting.

“We took some of the most glaring examples, like the Christmas in Cambodia story, and presented them to senior staff, and we assume that those things were put in front of Senator Kerry,” says the source. “We haven’t heard a word about it. All we were told is that it was being taken care of.”

The campaign source said that the book was not considered a “serious” problem for the campaign, because, “the media wouldn’t have the nerve to come at us with this kind of stuff,” says the source. “The senior staff believes the media is committed to seeing us win this thing, and that the convention inoculated us from these kinds of stories. The senior guys really think we don’t have a problem here.” Saturday, August 28, 2004

BREAKING NEWS: The Sky Is NOT Falling

    From Slings and Arrows:
Whether the protestors in New York like it or not, peace is breaking out all over:
The chilling sights and sounds of war fill newspapers and television screens worldwide, but war itself is in decline, peace researchers report.

In fact, the number killed in battle has fallen to its lowest point in the post-World War II period, dipping below 20,000 a year by one measure. Peacemaking missions, meantime, are growing in number.

''International engagement is blossoming,'' said American scholar Monty G. Marshall. ''There's been an enormous amount of activity to try to end these conflicts.''

For months the battle reports and casualty tolls from Iraq and Afghanistan have put war in the headlines, but Swedish and Canadian non-governmental groups tracking armed conflict globally find a general decline in numbers from peaks in the 1990s.

Well, peace isn't breaking out everywhere.

Wow, maybe the protests are working....er.....okay so the protests haven't liberated 50 million people - or saved a continent - or ....well actually I can't think of anything the protests have accomplished except for emboldened those who want to end our way of life or kill us in the process!

THE BOOS THAT ROCKED THE VOTE: KERRY DAUGHTERS RECEIVE RUDE AWAKENING AT MTV AWARDS
    Sun Aug 29 2004 23:36:31 ET

MTV, ROLLING STONE and the rock and roll establishment -- past and present -- have cast their vote, and their man is John Kerry.

So on Sunday night when John Kerry's daughters were announced to speak at the annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, the MTV youth were expected to welcome his daughter's as pop culture princesses.

Instead, in an era of the unexpected, the daughters of the Democratic candidate were met with a resounding wall of boos at the filming in Miami.

From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.

Com Log 082904 Response to Jr.

    Okay, Mr. M. Moore Jr.

First off I would like to thank you for your good wishes. I wish I could say I was healthy, but no such thing. My V-8 mind is running on only 4 or 5 of the cylinders, but I'm trying and that is better then the 2 or 3 that were firing last week.

Just so you know, I did have a reply to your first post including links to the comments and everything – but the blogspot server crashed as I was posting. Of course I had saved it on Word, but cut it to paste it to the blogspot and I ended up having to do everything from memory – surprised I hit all the points at all. Hope you weren’t too upset, I’ll try better here. Here is a link to the comments I am responding to.

Glad I could help with the lesson on Iran’s Government.

You are correct; President Bush didn’t get the majority of the popular vote – that is why the Electoral College is around. We all know how our Presidents are elected – it wasn’t something that was a surprise to Al Gore and he ran his campaign accordingly. There have been three other elections since the Civil War like this – the difference is in this one the losing party decided it would be better to try and take advantage of our system in order to sow discord.

Our Founding Fathers were perhaps the most insightful and prescient group of people ever assembled – they set up a Representative Republic. Our nation is a true union of states and as such our elections for Federal Office are done on a statewide basis. Our Constitution gives all powers to the States that aren’t specifically given to the Fed’s. They believed the States were closer to the people and that as such they should have the ability to make many of the policies of the nation. As a matter of fact our Senators were originally appointed by the legislators of each state – that is right, they were there to represent the states as an extension of the people, not the people directly.

They also feared what would happen if one state became too powerful – it is reflected in many areas such as the Electoral College, the equal number of Senators from each state as well as the requirement that the President and VP be from different states. I am not sure where you live, but can you imagine what would happen if every election was decided by JUST the voters in New York or JUST California? That is what could happen if we decided to go the route of European Democracy and scrapped many of the ideas of a Representative Republic. BTW, this is one of the reasons European nations have turned to purely socialistic societies – the purchasing of power via handouts. It also paralyzes them in the face of threats such as terrorism and aggression.

Okay, enough government – how about your charge of minority voters being “disenfranchised” as they say. Well according to Peter Kirsanow, a member of the US Commission on Civil Rights no such thing occurred. He states, “No, absolutely not. This kind of rhetoric has been trafficked in for the last going-on-four years now by a number of individuals. It's kind of surprising that a presidential candidate would actually do the same. But, as you may recall, before the polls were even closed in Florida during the 2000 election, activists had descended upon the state and already were proclaiming that voters were being disenfranchised, harassed, intimidated. In fact, some people were saying that dogs and hoses were being used on black voters and that tens of thousands were either being obstructed from going to the polls or otherwise harassed. There was a six-month investigation by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission . . . also an investigation by the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department. . . . There was absolutely no truth to any of those allegations . . . not one person who was intimidated . . . (or) had their vote stolen. There was no disenfranchisement . . . no truth to any of those allegations.

Errors happen in all elections. People make mistakes, fraud occurs, but for a group of people to proclaim an election was stolen is simply irresponsible and wrong. Our system worked as it was intended to. You might disagree, but that is why we have another election in 4 years. Remember the 1960 election when Nixon lost to Kennedy? Amazingly close, HUGE (now confirmed) voter fraud in
Texas and Chicago. Did Nixon and the Republicans chose to divide the nation and harp on this for 4 or more years? No, because unlike the Democrats of today they put the needs of the nation ahead of their petty party politics. For a party that is supposed to be accepting they sure have a hard time accepting that they lost - and don't tell me they didn't because if that were the case Gore would be in the White House right now, it just didn't happen.

And if you want to know where this irresponsible and untrue rhetoric leads - Qadhafi's son stated that he couldn't believe Bush was lecturing Arab states on Democracy when half of the US doesn't believe he was elected. Direct evidence that the behavior of "Lie-N-Hype 9/11" wack-o's empowers our enemies.

The Enviro Wack-o’s, well you admit that there are scientists that are now
“…refuting the hypothesis that the burning of fossil fuels is leading to the green house effect and warming the planet. The vast majority of scientists today are on the side of global warming.” By your logic Columbus should have never left Europe because most scientists believed the planet was flat! By the way, this is the line that is often used by the Old Media and the UN – but they never seem to give a count of this “majority”.

Our entire lifestyle is based on the burning of fossil fuels. No one wants to ignore what might happen, but radicalism is not the answer – particularly when there is now science that disputes that warming is even occurring, or at least outside the norm for the earth's lengthly climate history. I do find it very interesting that the ALL POWERFUL HUMAN (as enviro’s portray us to be) can’t even manage to kill bacteria without it evolving and adapting to become a super bug but at the same time we are supposed to be accidentally destroying the world just by our very existence.

Imagine your doctor telling you that in order to save your life we needed to sew your mouth shut, after all you might die in 150 years or more because you seem to be gaining weight! No, a diet change or modification in your lifestyle won't work - your gonna die! Of course none of the scales show an increase in weight, but the majority of your friends say yep you must be gaining weight, and your Doctor says your feet are bigger! Okay, so your only 120 lbs and you've weighed 210 a few years ago! Doesn't matter, it is that eating that is killing you! Sounds radical.

BTW, name a government program that has ever worked to save energy or lives? How about Clinton's failed hybrid auto program....nope, it didn't even work. The market works which is why the Japanese have produced hybrids. Unfortunately they are money losers. A more realistic technology is fuel cells - hmmmm, didn't Bush propose funding their development? Why yes he did - but I thought he didn't care about the environment?

Interesting how many of the world’s Glaciers (just one article but check out, accumulation zone, glacier - search stats as well) are actually growing in size despite the will of the “majority of scientists.”

Haliburton – well, your beloved Billie (as you put it) gave Haliburton no bid contracts during most of his administration. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE ONE OF THE FEW COMPANIES WHO CAN DO THE JOB. I suppose they could have had ties to the Clintons too. To try and compare a legitimate business to the crimes of Saddam – in violation of numerous UN resolutions is an amazing stretch for you to make.

And yes, Clinton lied – no argument can change that. You say “even under oath” like this was less of a crime….that was done purely as means to undermine our judicial system - he was accused of doing what Kobe did, and he settled the case for CASH! I would like you to provide one bit of evidence that the President lied and before you go off finding quotes on WMD’s please remember the definition of a lie (Webster’s) tell an untruth; pretend with intent to deceive. The key is intent passing on information you believe to be true does not make you a liar. Remember Mr.’s. Kerry, Chirac, Clinton, Schroeder, Putin, Blix, and others ALL believed Saddam had weapons and was not upholding his obligations under the agreement he signed in 1991. Allowing him to thumb his nose at his obligations for 10 years was another diplomatic coup of the Clintons (yes that was sarcastic). See A Litany of Leftist Lies to learn that all you thought you knew about Iraq isn't all there is to know about Iraq and real story.

PS - again I would extend an offer to allow you to place a liberal outlook here on a regular basis.

    Doing Half The Peoples Business!

What is really causing the tone and divisiveness in Washington and around the country? Could it be the divisive policies of the Democrats? When did being elected to represent a district or state change to being elected to represent a party. Aren't these people elected to do "The Peoples Business?" Or was it really just 1/2 the peoples business?

CORE To Edwards: Stop Blocking Black Judges (Captains Quarters)

The Congress on Racial Equality plans to run advertising in John Edwards' home state of North Carolina challenging him to stop blocking the nomination of California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown to the federal appellate bench:

California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown is among a half dozen of Bush's nominees to the appeals court who've been blocked in the Senate by Democrats. The Senate confirms all judicial appointments. Her nomination is opposed by groups including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

But the more conservative Congress of Racial Equality says Brown is a role model who deserves the promotion, and is challenging Edwards, a senator from North Carolina, on his home turf. The ad also names Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, a fellow Senate Judiciary Committee member who has helped block Bush's judicial nominees.

Senator Edwards wanted to get back to the issues, but he can't be happy about having to defend his position on Brown's nomination when under attack by CORE and Niger Innis. Tying him to Ted Kennedy also damages the Kerry/Edwards attempt to portray themselves as the true centrists in this campaign. While analysts have already debated whether Edwards will enable Kerry to make a dent in what had been a strong Republican state in the past, pointing out Edwards' (and Kerry's) obstinacy on judicial nominations will only make a North Carolina win that much less likely.

    World War Update 082904 French/Jazeera

Two French reporters were kidnapped by Islamists who are demanding that France end it's ban on head scarves in French Schools or they will behead the journalists.

Al Jazeera has a tape of the demands, but really Al Jazerra is nothing more then a tool of the terrorists and Alphabet City has some great insight into how the network hampers investigation into these acts.

Now on the sensitivity scale France has to be right up there with Mr. Kerry, don't they? Did this sensitivity help or protect them? Not one bit - just like giving Czechlaslovakia to Hitler didn't help.

This is a World War and the sooner we decide we aren't going to accept these barbaric actions the sooner we can put an end to them.

After the War - It's About the Future!

I have said before that it isn't what Kerry did in Vietnam - it may actually have been respectable service (though fabricated and exaggerated.) It is about what he did after he returned. I remember the protestors and their anti-American actions. The more I learn about Kerry and his leadership roll in those actions the more it makes me ill and scares the crap out of me. That a political party has become so completely bankrupt as to nominate this man as their candidate for the Presidency is, in my opinion, tantamount to agreeing to shred our nations future before it is even written.

I honestly don't believe most Democrats know who John Kerry is but having seen the Moore, McAuliffe, Clinton, Durbin (what a Dick) and Pelosi show dominate the scene for the first 6 months of the year I don't know if there is any hope for their party at all.

    More on this from PoliPundit:
    A Must-Read Piece

As we all know, John Kerry is both a traitor and an opportunist. When he came back from his alleged "tour of duty," he smeared his fellow Vietnam veterans in a brazen attempt to make a name for himself and further his political ambitions.

This article tells you how that behavior affected Paul Galanti. If there is any Kerry voter out there reading this blog, I really recommend you read this article. When you are done, ask yourself how you could even think of voting for this man.

P.S. When I heard the tapes of Kerry's Senate testimony, his pronunciation of Genghis Khan struck me as rather odd, but humorous nonetheless and indicative of a prep school elitist. Little did I know that for one man, hearing that pronunciation of the 12th century warrior's name must have been an extremely painful experience.

    From Implosion 101:
The key here is that all of us can dismiss what happened in the fog of war - but what Kerry did when he returned was in the fog of treason, opportunism, or stupidity. None of these are traits that make a good President.

Implosion 101 lesson - An implosion like this is the direct result of one thing and only one thing, running a campaign based on, "anybody but Bush," and the wack-o's like Moore.

World War Update 082404 Russian Planes

Two Russian passenger planes have crashed (dropped off of radar) almost simultaneously after leaving the same airport.

    My Way News:

In Washington, a senior U.S. State Department official said, "We are obviously concerned by the news. We're following developments closely and trying to determine the facts."

The U.S. Homeland Security Department was monitoring the situation but was not implementing any additional security measures in the United States, spokesman Brian Roehrkasse said.

The crash comes only days before Sunday's presidential election in the breakaway republic of Chechnya. Pro-Russian President Akhmad Kadyrov was killed by a bombing in May.

A series of deadly explosions in recent years has claimed hundreds of lives in blasts that have been blamed mostly on Chechen separatist rebels.

The sad part is that there are people who just refuse to believe this is a World War! When hundreds of thousands are dead and our economy has stopped in it's tracks them it will be too late.

Every day that goes by without action to stop the Sudan genocide is a day that the anti-Iraq war position so widely held in the rest of the world appears to be based less on principle and more on politics. And every day that goes by is a day in which George Bush's contempt for the international community, which I have denounced every day for two years, becomes more difficult to criticize.
I doubt he will ever come around to saying something to the effect of "uh, maybe I was wrong," but at least this is something.

Unfortunatly his fantasy world closed back in on him and left him in that Democartic LaLa Land as he accused the President of breaking the law with the Swifties. Calling How-weird your prescription is ready!

Waste Not Update - Actions Stink!

CHICAGO (CBS 2) Rock star Dave Matthews and his tour bus driver are facing a filthy lawsuit.

The Illinois Attorney General's office says they're responsible for dumping up to 100-gallons of raw human waste from a tour bus onto the Kinzie Street Bridge earlier this month.

The nasty mess rained down on passengers aboard a sightseeing boat two weeks ago.

The suit charges both the band and the bus driver with violating state water pollution laws, as well as common law public nuisance laws.

A spokesman for the band says all of its tour buses were parked at the time of the incident.

That's gonna hurt with the Greenie Lefties that make up a good portion of their fan base.

    Implosion 101 Update 082404 Drudge

Yesterday I pointed out in Implosion 101 that this had turned the corner and Kerry's counter attack was a failed arrogant argument.

Drudge has these updates along with an amazing story about Kerry's outreach call to a Swiftie.

FLASH: 'SWIFT BOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH' RAISED $1,764,000 IN DONATIONS ON WEBSITE IN PAST 2 WEEKS, SOURCES TELL DRUDGE...

Kerry's campaign now says is possible first Purple Heart was awarded for unintentional self-inflicted wound...

  • Kerry received Purple Heart for wounds suffered on 12/2/68...

  • In Kerry's own journal written 9 days later, he writes he and his crew, quote, 'hadn't been shot at yet'... Developing...

  • The support for the Swifties is wonderful! The Swifties have had to fight Old Media as well as Kerry/Edwards the whole time.

The call lasted 10 minutes, sources tell DRUDGE.

KERRY: "Why are all these swift boat guys opposed to me?"

BRANT: "You should know what you said when you came back, the impact it had on the young sailors and how it was disrespectful of our guys that were killed over there."

[Brant had two men killed in battle.]

KERRY: "When we dedicated swift boat one in '92, I said to all the swift guys that I wasn't talking about the swifties, I was talking about all the rest of the veterans."

Kerry then asked if he could meet Brant ["You were one of the best"] -- man to man -- face to face.

Brant declined the invite, explaining that Kerry was obviously not prepared to correct the record on exactly what happened during Vietnam and what happened when Kerry came back.

The arrogance in his statements proves that he just doesn't get it at all. It shows that he feels that he can say and do anything because he is elite! The Dem's have never understood the meaning of "Providing aid and comfort to the enemy."

"Choose or Lose" - MTV's Dilemma!

Jason had his first day of classes today at College and his Political Science Professor did a survey of where the students get most of their news. To my surprise (according to his reporting) in a class of 30 about 10 of them stated they got their new from Fox News. This was by far the greatest response to any one source.

I know this shouldn'’t be surprising – after all recent polls have shown a growing number of college students identifying themselves conservative (see this) and Fox News is consistently the most watched cable news network, but as a realist I remember the death grip liberals have on our nations education system.

The popularity of The Daily Show, the Comedy Central Network’s admittedly unfair parody of the news, was evident in the class with 5 or 6 students naming it as their news source – which is a very scary realization, but no worse then the Alphabets (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN.)

Comedy Central is a sister network of MTV, with both being owned by Viacom. As such they are heavily into the "“Choose or Lose”" campaign. (In case you don’t remember this campaign it is the one started on MTV in 1992 as an effort to get more liberal youths involved in voting. I say liberal youths because of the very left leaning aspects of most of the networks pseudo news and awareness reporting and programming. Remember the Clinton boxers or briefs question? - should have seen this as an omen!) Their newest series of advertisements include celebrities describing how their social agenda is under attack and pleading for young voters to register and vote. Their pleas clearly indicate that the defeat of Republicans is the only way to save mankind.

The truth of MTV’s dilemma is that as a greater number of America's youths declare themselves as conservative, Republican, or even as independents who get their news from Fox News (truly the most balanced source on TV) MTV will have their own choice to make – choose to discontinue their "“Choose or Lose"” campaign or lose the hope of ever achieving their liberal agenda.

As a post script - the professor assigned daily reading of the NY Times and Washington Post - let the indoctrination begin!

In my opinion I think he would have done well to assign the Enquirer as well – after all their reporting is a bit more balanced and lately they have done much more investigative work! We’'ll see if the Professor ends up balanced or if he, like MTV will have to “Choose or Lose.”

    Laughing at Superior Intellect

Hey, Captains Quarters have a great posting on Bush calling Kerry's bluff - very true with this great observation:
So while George Soros and Peter Lewis-funded 527s poured tens of millions of dollars into commercials calling Bush AWOL and a deserter -- charges later proved false -- and using discredited testimony from former Ambassador Joe Wilson to promote the "Bush Lied" meme, the Kerry campaign has gone into hysterics over a $250,000 ad buy in three states by combat veterans who fought for the right to free speech. The dissonance has become too great for the entire press to refrain from comment, and if the Democrats can't keep from begging George Bush to make it stop, the media will take increasing notice of the whiff of desperation coming from the Kerry campaign.

As William Shatner once told Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II, I'm laughing at the superior intellect.

    Reason Enough

The International Herald Tribune SEOUL North Korea called President George W. Bush an imbecile and a tyrant who puts Hitler in the shade, unleashing a stream of insults Monday that seemed to rule out any serious progress on nuclear disarmament talks before the American elections in November.
    .
"The meeting of the working group for the six-party talks cannot be opened because the U.S. has become more undisguised in pursuing its hostile policy toward North Korea," a spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry told the country's state-controlled news agency.
This after we announce our troop withdrawal or up to 12,000 from South Korea? Is this guy insan......er, nice dictator (Kerry's sensitive approach!)

Another reason to vote for President Bush! The more they dislike us the better we are doing!

What Did They Say 082304 The Good Doctor

Elaine Kamark (sp?) who is now a Doctor (God help us all) actually said that the Swifties story has been out there since early August and that the President's waited too long to denounce 527 ads!

Is she serious? When it took 11 days for the NY Times to address the issue at all? It is getting pretty thick in here isn't it!

    Implosion 101

If you don't think the Kerry campaign is imploding - just read a few sections of The Kerry Spot. Including the conversation Kerry had with Bob Dole.

Attempting to tie the Vets to the Presidents campaign is not working (despite the media's attempts to give every bit of assistance they can.) People see the Moveon crap and understand that they are funded by Democrats - and in the same vein the Swift Vets are going to be funded by Republicans. The public sees this as no harm no foul! Only the truly elite would think this is a winning (or is that whining) response.

It does seem that for once Kerry can actually be single minded on one thing, the demand that everyone stop attacking him! But we have seen attack after attack on the President and Kerry has the nerve to tell Bob Dole that he hasn't spent a penny attacking the President --(see The KerrySpot for his lies on this one!) But is this working? They won't answer the charges and that along with the constant changes in the stories is causing serious damage. The President has the job, his resume is the last 4 years - Kerry's resume is turning out to have huge holes in it.

I am still amazed that a one minute advertisement has caused the beginning of this massive implosion and the 1 hour 56 minutes of "Lie-N-Hype 9/11" missed the mark. Amazing how the truth can still shine the light on the world. ("Lie-N-Hype 9/11" = "Fahrenheit 9/11" for those new here - see this, "Lie-N-Hype 9/11" Vs. The Swifties.) This meltdown will only accelerate when the new ad's charges are given their exam by the blogs - something the media just won't do.

BTW, that "Lie-N-Hype 9/11 Vs. The Swifties" was written two weeks ago yesterday - knock, knock, knock - Old Media, is this thing still on? Why have the alphabets fallen from my dial?
